Apr 19 marked the start of the oldest continuously running ten-day race in the world, taking place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, New York City. The Sri Chinmoy 10-6 and 3 day races. 18 ten day runners started together with 11 runners of the 3 day race. So as for now there are 29 runners from 16 countries circling 0.75 mile certified loop 24/7. Youngest runner is 27, the oldest – 71.

At April 23 10 day runners will be joint by the 7 runners of the 6 day race.

Course is open 24 hours/day, so runners decide themselves how long and when to take brakes on their multi day journey. Top runners sleeping really little – like few hours per day.

The prominent part of the multi day race organised by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team is self-transcendence. Though expanding your limits is never comfortable, but it’s gives peace and ultimately joy to the runners. It’s very satisfying to see how runners discover hidden potential within themselves rooted in higher self, in the spiritual realm.
